The APP World Tour finalizes dates for the 2021 World Championship Stand Up Paddle Racing and SUP Surfing Tours. During the coronavirus lockdown, APP CEO Tristan Boxford spent his time fine-tuning an already extensive program to maximize the global reach and participation of the APP World Tour. This is the finalized schedule.

A few changes have been made on the APP World Tour 2021 finalized schedule. Most notably both the paddle surfing opener in Maui and stand up paddle race in Denmark have been postponed until 2022. We await final word as to which venue will hold the kick-off event for the 2021 APP World Tour. Restrictions on travel due to COVID19 drive many of these decisions.

Late May-June 2021: World Tour Open, location to be announced

October 14th - 17th, Maui Hawaii

City Paddles Festivals:
The APP announces that we can look for defined regional legs to run alongside their already determined World Tour Championship calendar. The City Paddle Festival concept adds participation opportunities for paddlers at each venue that is holding a tour stop. This offers paddle enthusiasts a chance to engage in the World Tour excitement in some of the world's most recognizable cities for a memorable time at each stop.
European Triple Crown:
This year's APP World Tour is excited to include a European Triple Crown with three high profile and World Championship World Tour stops in the dynamic cities of London (July 31st - Aug 2nd), Switzerland (August 6th - 8th) and wrapping up in the City of Lights: Paris, France (December 3rd - 5th).

In an exciting development, the APP World Tour finds a new home in their stand up paddle racing tour schedule in San Diego, California (October 1st-3rd). Long known as the SUP Capital of the World, the San Diego region is home to the former Battle of the Paddle and Pacific Paddle Games. The APP fills the gap here by offering a popular SUP Racing Tour stop with participation through the City Paddle Festival to bring back the excitement with a locale which offers both flat water and surf race courses. Stay tuned on this one! SoCal is revitalized through this exciting Tour stop.
In an additional power move, the APP World Tour adds Maui to the SUP racing schedule (October 14th - 17th) with a dynamic Downwind Racing and Surf Sprint Racing leg at Ho'okipa Beach on the famed island. Using an open 4-day holding period for this stop, we will see two days of action to be held on the best days for each respective discipline. We expect the Maui event will deliver some of the most spectacular stand up paddle racing action of the year held on the sport's most infamous natural racing arenas.
Containers for Athletes to Move Equipment around the World Tour
Lastly, the APP offers a container solution for athlete's boards as a way to support transport of equipment in 2021. Athletes will be able to load their boards from Europe in May and the APP will move them to each stop throughout the event until the final stop in Paris. This goes a long way towards facilitating the use of equipment and offers athletes a more manageable way to participate in each leg of the Tour.
