Jeff Schlueter calls the saltwater playground of Florida’s northeast coast home, living and surfing in the laid back beach town of Fernandina Beach just north of Jacksonville on beautiful Amelia Island. It’s a region built for water lovers where barrier islands, winding tidal creeks, warm Atlantic swells, and endless stretches of undeveloped shoreline create a year round outdoor lifestyle that feels equal parts surf town and old Florida escape. On any given morning, Jeff can be found chasing clean lines at sunrise, paddling through glassy marshes with dolphins nearby, or checking conditions with that eternal optimism every East Coast surfer understands. Northeast Florida’s coastal energy suits him perfectly, relaxed but adventurous, rooted in community, and always connected to the ocean.

Jeff’s relationship with Session Magazine began back in 2021, when a local SUP surfer introduced him to the publication during its earlier days as Stand Up Journal. Even as the magazine evolved beyond a strict SUP focus, Jeff remained hooked by its spirit. Jeff says, "the breadth of articles always gets me stoked to get back on the water." For Jeff, the magazine isn’t just something to read, it’s part of the rhythm of coastal living, inspiring him to get back outside and reconnect with the water that defines life along Florida’s First Coast.

Like many dedicated readers, Jeff has his own ritual when a new issue arrives. He flips straight to the back pages for Steve West. There’s something about Steve’s voice and perspective that resonates with him, honest, adventurous and infused with the kind of soul only lifelong watermen seem to possess. Jeff jokes that after a long day of SUP surfing, sharing a cold beer and swapping stories with Steve West sounds just about perfect. That blend of camaraderie, storytelling and saltwater passion is exactly what keeps Jeff connected to both the magazine and the lifestyle it celebrates.
