Cheers to Taylor Resnick of Burlington, VT. Taylor grew up on Long Island, NY and has always followed the pull of water. Growing up on Long Island Taylor fell in love with surfing and paddle boarding which built this deep, almost instinctive connection to the water.
Resnicks life shifted inland but not away from the water. Now in Burlington, perched on the edge of Lake Champlain, it’s a different kind of blue, a different rhythm, but the same feeling. The lake has its own personality, calm one moment, wild the next, always inviting. What makes it even better is that this connection isn’t just a hobby, it’s part of Taylor's everyday life. Working as a captain on the University of Vermont research vessel out on Lake Champlain means he doesn't just visit the water, he lives on it, learns from it, and help others understand it. There’s something pretty special about blending passion with purpose like that.
And when he's not out there, Taylor is still chasing that feeling, looking ahead to the next session, the next swell, the next glassy morning. That’s where Sessions Magazine comes in. Resnick says "Session Magazine keeps me motivated and stoked for the next adventure."
At the end of the day, whether it’s saltwater or freshwater, a surfboard or a research vessel, it all comes back to the same thing, being out there, present, moving with it, not against it.
