Unleash the Blurr: Infinity Today

Innovator, stylist, funny man, father and “the driving force today behind the wheel” of Infinity SUP is Dave aka “the Brown Blurr” Boehne, according to his father Steve.

Dave (“Blurr”) Boehne’s legacy cannot be understated, undersold or underwhelmed. He has taken his father’s thriving surfboard business and brought it into the 21st century with the innovative use of technology, designing high performance stand up paddle - and now foil - boards as well as putting together a team that consistently wins world titles. Blurr doesn’t want us to talk about him, but his contribution to the paddle surf and racing world is impossible to overlook.

Steve Boehne believes in the integrity of building boards by hand. Blurr brought the innovation of 3D CAD software into the shop. Infinity now uses a combination of programs like Shape-3D, Rhino and Solidworks that allows this father-son team to design boards in 3D, working out the specs and magic, then finishing by shaping the boards by hand. The results are exceptionally crafted boards, designed using cutting edge technology and shaped by lifelong surfers. Infinity SUP designs high performance SUP surf boards, raceboards, surfboards and foil boards that are favored by the best water athletes on the planet. Now, that’s integrity.

In addition to shaping and designing in the shop, Blurr is also credited with putting together the Infinity SUP Team, a mixed bag of elite performance talent that consistently wins world titles. Meet Candice Appleby, one the most victorious women in the sport of SUP, who held the reign for most wins at the Battle of the Paddle and Pacific Paddle Games. Then there’s Izzi Gomez, a 5X women’s SUP world champion, all before she turned 20. Infinity Speed Freak Shae Foudy also won her 2018 APP World Championship standing on an Infinity board. Add to that the great talent of Itzel Delgado from Peru who won the 2019 ISA world championship in SUP technical racing, and the fiery talent of Taylor Bashor along with longtime Infinity rider Slater Trout and more.

Today, Blurr blazes through his lifestyle by adding APP World Tour commentator to his lengthy list of talents. While on the APP World Tour, he’s able to travel with his team and even slide out of the broadcaster’s booth to compete in the title race himself. Yup, he’s that good. He’s also known for his Infinity SUP Skills Camps to Nosara in Costa Rica which he co-powers with Nosara Paddlesurf.

For a guy who never stands still, Blurr is on the move and innovating in forward motion, just like his dad. We can’t wait to see what he comes up with NEXT.
