Chris Bertish has just launched his newest project - the TransCat Expedition 2025 -another solo waterman's mission of an extreme nature. This time, he's building out a production NACRA 20' semi-foiling beach catamaran to sustain him as he sails, solo and completely unsupported, from Dana Point in California to Oahu, Hawaii in a voyage that will take him three weeks to accomplish. He will be sailing a 2-person beach cat solo, completely exposed to the elements for the entire journey. The risk is real.

No Cabin, No Kitchen, No Facilities and No Support with Full Exposure to the Elements for 21 Days at Sea, Alone:  The TransCat Expedition 2025

Sounds easy, you say?  Let's remember that nothing Bertish signs up for is ever easy. This is the man who won the Mavericks Big Wave Surf Invitational in the year the surf was so big, it washed spectators and media personnel off the cliffs in Half Moon Bay. This is the renowned waterman who paddled, completely solo without any support boat, across the Atlantic Ocean from Morocco to Antigua, a journey that took him 93 incredible days and never ending nights alone on the ocean, hundreds of miles from anyone who could rescue him. And, let's not forget, Chris Bertish most recently wing foiled that same craft - the ImpiFish - across the Pacific Ocean, again solo without any support.

What we get to experience in this new project - the TransCat Project 2025 - is another visionary test of Chris Bertish's waterman skills and endurance training. This next voyage will see Bertish sail a 20' production, semi-foililng beach catamaran for 2,650 NM by himself with no fixed cabin across the ocean fully exposed to the elements. He expects the TransCat Expedition to take about twenty-one days to complete. That's complete exposure to the elements - wind, rain, salt, sun and storms - on a TINY craft considering the length and width of other ocean-crossing vessels. Again, Bertish will defy the impossible by completing this world's first journey on the production, semi-foiling beach cat by himself. The TransCat Expedition is a true test of a waterman's skills and will also greatly challenge his endurance under the relentless lash of the sun, storms, water and exposure.

TransCat Expedition 2025 May be the Most Hazardous of ALL

This feat is another world's first for Bertish as no one has ever sailed a 20' production beach catamaran across the Pacific solo. In fact, most people would say it is... impossible.  But repeating that word near Bertish is the equivalent of waving a red flag in front of a bull. In this expedition, he will test his life-long sailing skills against the most extreme ocean conditions any man or woman could dare to challenge.

The TransCat Project 2025 literally sets sail soon and CB is asking for everyone to get on board. His recent crowdfunding campaign on Indigogo is a special opportunity to support this legend achieve a new milestone in semi-foling sailing and the perks are incredible!

Imagine being a part of history in the making as this man becomes the World's First to ever sail a production, semi-foiling 20' beach catamaran across the ocean using a craft that’s not designed for an open ocean crossing. There will be with no crew members, no kitchen or facilities and no fixed cabin. Bertish will be solo sailing exposed to the ruthless elements 24/7 for three long weeks without break, as he has no safety boat and no support. Just a single man achieving the dream to prove that nothing is impossible with the correct preparation, relentless training and powerful mindset. Bertish, as always, seeks to inspire others to believe more in themselves and push the boundaries of what seems impossible. His ultimate goal for this expedition is to support African disadvantaged youth and to take action steps to preserve and protect the planet. For more about this powerful 'WHY', read on below.

TransCat Expedition 2025:  Give Back & Impact

One powerful element to this journey is Bertish's environmental and educational give-back approach through the Chris Bertish Foundation. The TransCat Expedition 2025 will impact so many people as the project has built into it's overall success the building of a horticultural circular economy school in northern Kenya - the first of its kind - in order to give local Kenyan children opportunities and to lift up the entire community. The project will also plant a minimum of 4,000 trees in that same region to feed this community. The TransCat Expedition will plant additional forests in North and South America through the SeaTrees initiative as well.

Bertish continues to give back through supporting local coral restoration in Hanuman Bay in Hawaii and offering the first live Q&A classroom sessions to schools globally from the middle of the Pacific Ocean. His goal is - as always - to be 'driven by passion & powered by purpose' to empower youth, by building schools and opportunities while also protecting/supporting our planet.

What other expedition do you know of that does ALL this?
